Newsletter #36 - Meet Film Professionals - New Podcast Episodes
How could we not refer to the lockdown? While a few countries are beginning to see the light, others are still « under the water ». Despite all bad omens, the African continent is among the least hard-hit.
Today, May 12, is the day when we should have all met again at the 2nd edition of Pavillon Afriques at Cannes Film Festival. In uncertain times, hope is a useful commodity. Not the kind of empty hope that puts your future in someone else’s hands but the kind of active hope that makes you embrace it with the support of a powerful vision.
We want to share our hope with you, our very first or new supporters and partners. Hope that the cancellation of Pavillon Afriques 2020 edition at Cannes Film Festival will not slow our momentum but put it instead on an accelerated path. Because although Cannes Film Market is Pavillon Afriques flagship, we have multiple tools to make our vision come true (see agenda).
We have also used this time to bring more value to the industry professionals so that they get out of the lockdown even more empowered and ready to conquer the world!
On April 24, we launched a virtual conference « Meeting with Film Professionals ». Our guest was Franciane Abassan, film producer and sales agent. She sells content to film distributors, platforms, TV and airlines worldwide. We are happy she is now, in her portfolio, holding projects from filmmakers coming through Pavillon Afriques. She is currently assessing a few more films and documentaries and hopes we can help her source more. So, if you have contents to sell, think Pavillon Afriques! We are here to make things happen.
Friday, May 29
