Newsletter #34 - Spike Lee Made History

Earlier this month it was announced that Spike Lee has been selected as President of Jury for the 2020 Festival de Cannes. Making him the first person of the African Diaspora to be named president. Spike Lee (62) is a cinematic legend with movies that have graced the festival for decades. Movies such as She’s Gotta Have It (1986), Do The Right Thing (1989) and most recently BlacKkKlansman (2018) which have always received awards and notoriety from the festival committee and the world-at-large. It is not an uncommon thing to see judges and members of the committee come by the Marché du Film.
